Position Overview
The HCM Training Specialist will be a key contributor responsible for providing training, consultation, analysis, and technical expertise related to talent acquisition and performance management initiatives. The ideal candidate is technologically savvy, data-driven, detail-oriented , and experienced in system implementations and statewide training delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver training and develop content related to a modern Human Resources Information System (HRIS) platform.
- Provide guidance and training to recruiters on talent pool optimization, internship programs, interviewing techniques, hiring best practices , and system-based recruiting workflows.
- Research and apply training best practices to support continuous program improvement .
- Analyze system-related data and produce graphic and narrative reports and presentations .
- Maintain and update training materials, exercises, handouts, and assessments to reflect policy, process, and system changes , as well as participant feedback.
- Conduct instructor-led training , both virtually and in person , for approved HR training courses.
- Utilize system training environments and related tools to facilitate learner activities.
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including enrollments, learning paths, exams, and related support activities.
- Respond to requests from a wide range of internal stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience delivering training through multiple modalities (in-person, virtual, online, multimedia).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.
- Proven program management and organizational skills , including managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply technology tools for training design and data analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Additional Information
- Some travel may be required .
- This role follows a hybrid work model , with telework encouraged and some onsite presence required (schedule to be determined).
- While long-term engagement is anticipated, the position is subject to annual budget approvals . The initial contract runs through the end of the fiscal year, with expected renewal thereafter.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of job-related human resources experience;
- OR
- One (1) year of experience at a comparable lower-level HR specialist role.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering or training on Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Talent Management, or related modules).
- Prior HRIS systems training experience .
